Pain Management

Your body is an interconnected whole. Because of this, true well-being can only be achieved through a holistic plan—one that addresses multiple aspects of health.

At Natural State Health Center, we provide you with a variety of services to manage your pain. Each is performed with consistent excellence, and each is targeted at the same end goal: the healthy, pain-free life that you desire. Chronic pain is traditionally treated as a symptom, with pills and surgery being the primary forms of treatment. For long-term health, the cause of pain must be identified and corrected. We believe that this can be achieved for many people through an integrative plan that treats the whole person, without drugs or surgery. We utilize several methods to diagnose and treat causes of pain:

Chiropractic Adjustment

Of all the services that Natural State Health Center offers, chiropractic is by far our biggest, most important, and most rewarding service.

This is because our spines are the support system for our body. They surround and protect the most important part of us, our spinal cord.  The spinal cord is what controls our nervous system, which is responsible for all activity in the body. While your body may be able to go days without water, weeks without food, and even minutes without oxygen, it cannot keep going one second without the power created by your nervous system!

The way a spine is positioned affects the way the nervous systems works. This in turn affects the way the rest of our body functions from the feeling in our toes, to way our stomach digests all the way to the aches in our head!  That is why Dr. Traci Kiernan and her associate doctors are able to treat not only neck and back pain but can also treat patients that suffer from a wide variety of symptoms including but not limited too digestive issues, headaches, fibromyalgia, numbness/tingling, hip pain, knee pain, allergies, and many more.

As modern medicine has advanced, chiropractors have the capability to make defined measurements of the spine, giving them the resources to make precise measurements of both the damage done to your spine and nervous system.

At Natural State Health Center, after doing a complete analysis of patient’s history, health, and spine, we are able to make accurate recommendations for care.

Orthotics at Pain Management Clinic

When you become a patient at Natural State Health Center, one thing we always look at is your posture. The reason for this is because a postural imbalance can be a likely cause for pain or discomfort in your body.

One way to help heal this is by looking at your feet! As you may know, your feet are the foundation of your body. By using orthotics, we can stabilize and balance your feet, which in turn will minimize pain and discomfort while enhancing your body’s performance and efficiency.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy, a result of damage to your peripheral nerves, often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet. It can also affect other areas of your body.

Your peripheral nervous system sends information from your brain and spinal cord (central nervous system) to the rest of your body. Peripheral neuropathy can result from traumatic injuries, infections, metabolic problems, inherited causes and exposure to toxins. One of the most common causes is diabetes.

People with peripheral neuropathy generally describe the pain as stabbing, burning or tingling. In many cases, symptoms improve, especially if caused by a treatable condition. Medications can reduce the pain of peripheral neuropathy. At Natural State Health Center, we treat Neuropathy with a combination of Anodyne Light Therapy, Electrical Stimulation, and Supplementation with our in-house developed NeuroEase™ to stop the pain and return you to the activities you love.
